Welcome to the First United Methodist Church of Austin, a versatile campus perfect for weddings, concerts, conferences, and large gatherings. Located at 1201 Lavaca Street in downtown Austin, the campus combines traditional spaces with modern flexibility. The Sanctuary, Murchison Chapel, and Family Life Center (Great Hall) offer varying capacities to suit your event size, with a focus on a smooth, no-fuss booking experience. We’ve got you covered with practical details on seating, parking, transit, and nearby hotel and dining options to make planning effortless.

Note on renovations: The Sanctuary Building is currently under restoration (exterior/roof and stained-glass work). Worship and events continue on site, with the campus designed to adapt to ongoing restoration needs.

Campus layout includes dedicated entrances and parking areas for Sanctuary, Murchison Chapel, and the Great Hall. When you book, our team helps align your event with flexible spaces and clear access routes.   • Parking: Sunday parking in church lot; free metered spaces; Trial Lawyers’ Garage (13th & Lavaca) open Sundays 7 a.m.–10 p.m.; roof-top of TSTA garage (12th & Lavaca) open on Sunday mornings; Weekdays: ‘Church Business’ spaces and metered street parking (3-hour max).
