About Geva Theatre Center
Geva Theatre Center is a not-for-profit professional regional theatre housed in a historic Naval Armory/Convention Hall building in downtown Rochester, NY. Since becoming Geva Theatre Center in the late 1990s and undergoing a 2016 renovation, Geva offers two stages and a calendar that spans classic plays, new works, and community festivals. The Wilson Stage seats 519 and the Fielding Stage seats 180, with seating charts viewable by stage selections on Geva’s Box Office/Seating Charts pages. Whether you’re here for a beloved holiday favorite like A Christmas Carol on the Wilson Stage or a contemporary production, Geva is designed for easy access, quality productions, and a welcoming community atmosphere.
Seating, parking, and transit are planned with guests in mind. Geva provides a surface lot behind the building (about the best available price per event) and the Washington Square Garage offers a pre-paid option at the best available price, with in-person rates typically higher. RTS bus service stops within easy walking distance, making Geva pedestrian-friendly from major routes. For visitors planning a stay, we highlight nearby hotels like The Strathallan Rochester Hotel & Spa, Courtyard Rochester Downtown, and Rochester Plaza Hotel & Suites, with affiliate recommendations to simplify booking. If you’re traveling for festivals or special events, Geva has hosted milestones like AACTFest (2011) and Rochester’s Festival of New Theatre (2014), and remains a center for Rochester’s holiday tradition A Christmas Carol on the Wilson Stage.
