Welcome to Jackson Zoo, a city-run recreational and educational facility nestled in Livingston Park. With about 110 acres of grounds, including 54 acres in the zoo and 34 acres currently in use, it’s a great place for families and visitors to learn about wildlife while enjoying interactive exhibits and seasonal events. Admission details: Tue–Sun, 10:00 am–4:00 pm. Adults $the best available price, Children 2–12 the best available price, Under 2 Free. Last ticket sold at 2:45 pm. Note that the Gertrude C. Ford Wildlife Adventures Theater opened in 2016 and features wildlife-focused programming. Iconic on-site features include the Endangered Species Carousel (opened in 1998) and the Dinos! animatronic dinosaurs (added in 2017). For evening experiences, consider the Sunset Safari after-hours event if available during the season. Maps are available at the visitor center, though detailed seating charts are not published for public use.

Parking is available on-site for guests. For transportation, JTRAN provides fixed-route bus service with access from Union Station at 300 W Capitol St, and paratransit services are available for eligible riders.
