About La Nouvelle Scene

La Nouvelle Scene is a vibrant Francophone theatre centre in Ottawa, hosting four resident companies and a diverse slate of productions from family shows to contemporary theatre. With flexible configurations across Studio A, Studio B, and the Bistro Marcil Lavallée, it’s designed to adapt to a variety of performances while keeping audiences close to the action. Located at 333 King Edward Avenue, the venue is easily accessible by transit and offers street parking in front of the building.

Spaces and seating: Studio A seats up to 173 with bleachers, about 165 for some shows with enhanced lighting/sound, and 200 in cabaret mode. Studio B accommodates up to 80 seats (75 with bleachers). The Bistro Marcil Lavallée seats around 100 (basic) or 173 in cabaret style. Configurations are flexible to fit production needs, making La Nouvelle Scene a versatile hub for francophone theatre in Ottawa.

Parking and transport: There is no dedicated on-site parking. Street parking is available directly in front of the building. Transit access is strong: OC Transpo lines 7, 12, 14, 15, 18, 615, 616, 624 (Rideau/King Edward stop) and 56 (King Edward/York), plus STO lines 31–38 (King Edward/York). Bicycle racks are available for riders.
