Access to the amphitheater is via Jamestown Road. The space seats about 575 fixed seats, with roughly 1,100 in festival seating and up to 2,000 when including the standing pit. Notable past events include the Common Glory outdoor drama (1947–1976) and recent Symphony Under the Stars performances by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
