About Mcandrew Stadium
Mcandrew Stadium was a former on-campus multi-purpose stadium for college football and track at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. With a capacity of around 17,000 at its peak, the venue played a notable role in Saluki athletics before being demolished in 2011 and replaced on campus by Saluki Stadium (opened in 2010). Today, the site serves as parking and facilities ground for SIU. This page provides a concise, practical guide to the former stadium’s location, access, and nearby lodging and dining options, helping you plan trips to SIU events with straightforward, trustworthy information.
For current game-day access and travel details, refer to the SIU Parking Division and Saluki Stadium gameday guides.
