About Midtown Cultural & Educational Center

The Julia T. and Charles W. Cherry, Sr. Cultural & Educational Center (renamed from Midtown Cultural & Educational Center in 2022) is a dynamic, city-owned community hub in Daytona Beach. Opened in 2012 as Midtown, the center was renamed in December 2022 to honor the Cherry family for their contributions to the local community. Spanning approximately 24,830 square feet, this versatile venue sits within the Midtown Recreation Complex and hosts a wide range of community programming, cultural events, and private functions.

Whether you’re attending a large public event or a smaller gathering, the Cherry Center offers thoughtful amenities, including a gymnasium, basketball court, dance and music studios, a computer room, a full kitchen, multipurpose rooms, and accessible outdoor spaces. Event seating is supported by an on-site seating/chart system, and detailed seating charts are available for each show or gathering.

Getting there is straightforward with on-site parking (limited spaces) and convenient access to VOTRAN public transit via local routes and the MyStop app. We’ve got you covered with nearby lodging and dining options to make your visit easy, comfortable, and enjoyable.

The Cherry Center is a staple for Daytona Beach community life, hosting events like the Santa Run endpoints, National Night Out, Bethune-Cookman welcome receptions, and adults-only game nights.
