About Milwaukee Public Museum
The Milwaukee Public Museum sits in the heart of downtown Milwaukee at 800 West Wells Street. This natural and human history museum offers versatile spaces for weddings, corporate events, holiday parties, and planetarium programming. With a standing capacity up to 3,500 across the museum and a comfortable 450 seating capacity for standard events, it’s a flexible choice for groups of various sizes. The flagship venue also features the Daniel M. Soref Dome Theater & Planetarium with 260 stadium-style seats, perfect for screenings, presentations, and immersive experiences.
Currently operating in the Wells Street building through January 3, 2027, the museum plans a future move to the Nature & Culture Museum of Wisconsin at Sixth & McKinley, with completion anticipated in 2027. In the interim, event spaces remain ready for booking and provide a distinctive setting enriched by the museum’s exhibits and educational programs.
Seating details are not published in a public seating chart, but event capacities are listed by space on the museum’s event pages. Secure your seats and arrange seamless logistics with our friendly team. Amtrak and Greyhound services serve nearby travel needs, and MCTS buses provide straightforward local transit. On-site parking is available adjacent to the MacArthur Square parking structure, with metered street parking options nearby.
