About Monongalia Arts Center
The Monongalia Arts Center (MAC) is a cornerstone of Morgantown’s cultural scene, offering intimate live performances, rotating visual art exhibits, and community theatre through the MAC Players. Housed in the historic, NRHP-listed Old Morgantown Post Office building, MAC features the Mabel DeVries Tanner Theatre (home to MAC Players) and two galleries—the Benedum Gallery and the Davis Gallery—for rotating exhibits. Located at 107 High Street in downtown Morgantown, MAC provides an accessible place to enjoy theatre, music, and visual art in a welcoming, non-profit setting.
Whether you’re planning a local night out or seeking a unique venue for a student or community group, MAC makes it easy to experience high-quality arts programming close to home.
Plan ahead for parking and transit: downtown Morgantown offers four Morgantown Parking Authority garages (Spruce/Walnut, University Ave, Pleasant/Chestnut, Wharf) and metered lots. The Mountain Line Transit Authority provides free buses downtown, with routes connecting to the Creative Arts Center area and WVU. For convenience, consider staying close to the venue—Hotel Morgan (127 High Street), Scholar Morgantown (345 Chestnut Street, Hilton Tapestry Collection), and Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place (2 Waterfront Place) are nearby options. We’ve got you covered with reliable, no-fuss ticketing and event details—secure your seats to MAC’s next performance or exhibit and support your local arts community.
For performances, exhibits, and community events, MAC is a great stop on your Morgantown cultural map. If you’re visiting from out of town, check nearby dining options and handles of official artists and venues below for current events and partnerships.
