Mt. Zion Ski Hill is a public on-campus ski area operated by Gogebic Community College as part of its Ski Area Management program. Located at the Mt. Zion Rec Complex on the GCC campus in Ironwood, Michigan, this venue offers a approachable, student-led experience for skiers, snowboarders, and families. With 10 slopes, a cross-country trail, snow tubing, and a winter program for learning and development, Mt. Zion combines education with accessible recreation. The hill features about 300 feet of vertical and uses a single double chair plus two rope-tow lifts to move riders efficiently. The uphill lift capacity is historically around 1,700 riders per hour, ensuring steady access during busy days.
