Welcome to Poor House Studio, the private event space and standing-room live music venue tucked inside Poor House Bistro. Located at 80 S Montgomery St in downtown San Jose, this flexible studio is designed for intimate concerts, private gatherings, and special events. With a capacity for up to 100 guests and a stage suitable for small ensembles, the Studio is a versatile backdrop for music, parties, and corporate events. The venue recently relocated from Autumn Street to St John Street and now sits inside the PHB complex, ready to host you with a no-fuss, friendly approach.

Seating is flexible: the Studio uses a flexible layout with 20 round tables (4-5 chairs per table) and a dance floor. For parking, you can rely on metered and free street spots nearby, plus multiple downtown garages such as Fourth St & St. John Garage. Transit access is convenient with proximity to Diridon transit hub, offering multiple public options. Nearby hotels like Signia by Hilton San Jose (170 S Market St) and Hotel De Anza (233 W Santa Clara St) provide convenient overnight options for attendees and visiting performers.
