About Prairie Winds Park
Prairie Winds Park is a large, city-owned municipal park in Calgary's Northeast, spanning approximately 16 hectares. Since its redevelopment completed in 2017, the park has hosted hundreds of public gatherings and concerts each year, with a distinctive hilltop lookout providing informal seating. The space is versatile and accommodates a wide range of events without a fixed seating chart, making it a flexible option for organizers and attendees.
Whether you’re planning a community concert, festival, or casual outdoor gathering, Prairie Winds Park offers accessible parking, multiple transit options, and nearby accommodations and dining to help you plan a convenient trip. We’ve got you covered with practical details and trusted partner recommendations to make your visit smooth and straightforward.
Parking is available in two lots: the North lot with about 160 stalls (including 3 accessible spaces) and the South lot with around 50 stalls (2 accessible). The hillside lookout area serves as the informal seating zone, providing a natural, scenic place to enjoy performances. Calgary Transit serves the Castleridge/Westwinds area by bus, with the nearest C-Train access at McKnight–Westwinds Station. For visitors coming from farther away, several NE Calgary and airport-adjacent hotels are within a short drive, with YYC airport area options typically 15–20 minutes away by car.
To make your visit easy, we’ve highlighted affiliate partner hotels and restaurants nearby. These partners can help you secure comfortable accommodations or convenient dining before or after events.
