Since opening in April 2019 and expanding in December 2022, it’s grown into a hub for live music, social gatherings, and creative experiences. With dedicated spaces like the Sound Room (holding roughly 200 attendees), Upstairs, Atrium, Cafe Public, The Nursery, a vegan café, a record shop, and a plant nursery, Public Records offers an approachable, no-fuss venue experience—perfect for artists, fans, and friends alike. Parking is limited at Public Records, as the former on-site lot has been repurposed into The Nursery. There is no traditional on-site parking, so plan for street parking or nearby paid options if you drive. For transit, the venue sits in Gowanus with several transit options within walking distance. Moovit notes 4 Av-9 St (F train) as a close stop, typically a 6–9 minute walk to the venue entrances.
