Kaufman Theatre, and the Jose Quintero Theatre. In May 2000, the venue was renamed in honor of renowned director José Quintero. Although the building was demolished in 2006 and redeveloped as a neo-brutalist residential tower, Quintero Theatre remains a landmark for small-scale, character-driven theatre in New York City.
