About San Jose Grand Prix

Welcome to the San Jose Grand Prix venue page. The historic Grand Prix ran on a temporary street circuit through downtown San Jose from 2005 to 2007, drawing tens of thousands of fans each race weekend. The event took place around the SAP Center at San Jose, a multipurpose venue known for hosting hockey, basketball, concerts, and special events. Learn how to secure your seats, navigate parking and transportation, and find convenient lodging and dining options within walking distance of the action.

Note: The Grand Prix was staged on a downtown street course rather than a loop around SAP Center. Since then, SAP Center remains a central hub for sports and entertainment in San Jose and continues to be a preferred base for visitors attending events in the area.

Plan your visit with practical details: parking is available on-site at the SAP Center, transit options include Caltrain and VTA light rail or bus, and many nearby hotels and eateries cater to event crowds. Whether you’re a race fan or just in town for a show, we’ve got you covered with easy, reliable options to secure your seats, book a stay, and find great meals near the venue.
