Venue highlights include a flexible auditorium capacity ranging from 1,183 up to 3,000, with adjacent Gala room (150 theatre-style) and Forth room (340 theatre-style) for diverse event configurations. Parking is convenient via the multi-storey car park on the east side of the SEC campus. For city access, Exhibition Centre railway station serves the area, making travel straightforward. Directly adjacent to the SEC Campus, Crowne Plaza Glasgow offers seamless lodging with an internal walkway for event attendees.

Notable history includes hosting Britain’s Got Talent auditions (2008–2010) and significant science fiction and awards events such as the 63rd World Science Fiction Convention (Interaction) 2005, along with the Hugo Awards in 2005. In music, the venue has hosted prominent acts like Pet Shop Boys and Sheryl Crow at various points in its history. Since 2017, Clyde Auditorium has been officially renamed SEC Armadillo as part of SECC rebranding.
