With a shoebox-style setup and 257 seats, the venue supports student, faculty, and guest performances as well as interdisciplinary projects. Its adjustable curtains and adaptable seating allow for intimate experiences while accommodating a range of performance types, from solo recitals to ensemble concerts and immersive sound initiatives like BYU’s L-ISA program.

Established as part of BYU’s campus arts ecosystem, The Box continues the legacy of live performance in Provo after the Harris Fine Arts Center was demolished in 2023.
