About The DC Eagle
The DC Eagle has a long-standing legacy in Washington, DC, originating in 1971 as a leather/Levi bar and evolving through several relocations before settling in Mount Vernon Square and, most recently, a new chapter as District Eagle on U Street. This venue page provides a comprehensive overview for fans and event-goers: seating information, parking and transit options, and a curated list of nearby hotels and restaurants. Whether you’re attending a leather/kink event, an industry gathering, or a community night, we’ve got you covered with practical details and trusted insider recommendations.
Note: The original DC Eagle ceased operations in 2020 after the building was sold. In 2025, District Eagle opened at 1357-B U St NW with capacity for around 116 patrons (300 on Eagle XL nights), offering a modern take on a historic DC venue experience. Always check the event page for the latest information, including any changes to capacity, accessibility, or venue rules.
