About The Green Lantern

Welcome to The Green Lantern, Lexington’s intimate downtown live music bar and venue. Nestled at 497 W 3rd St in the heart of Kentucky’s horse country, this compact space focuses on close-up, high-energy performances with a small stage and general admission setup. Whether you’re catching a local bill or a touring act like CHUM, SWAMP HAWK, or ACROMANCER, you’ll experience a personable, no-frills night out with great sound and a friendly crowd. We’ll help you secure your seats and plan the night—from parking to nearby places to stay and eat.

Note: The Green Lantern was formerly known as Hideaway and has operated under its current name since 2009. The venue remains a staple of Lexington’s downtown music scene, hosting community and benefit shows as well as rotating local-artist bills.

Helpful tips: For parking, downtown garages such as the Transit Center Garage offer convenient options, with on-street metered parking also available. LexTran serves downtown routes, though the Downtown Transit Center underwent renovations in 2025 with temporary changes to operations. If you’re visiting from out of town, consider booking a nearby hotel within walking distance to minimize travel after an evening show. We’ve highlighted affiliate partner recommendations for hotels and dining to make planning your night easy and reliable.

Upcoming notable events at The Green Lantern include CHUM, SWAMP HAWK, ACROMANCER on October 4, 2025, Holler Choir performances in November 2025, and various benefit/community shows that spotlight local artists. For each show, we treat dates as standalone experiences with general admission seating and a small stage designed for an up-close, intimate vibe.
