Today, you’ll find two intimate spaces carrying that tradition: Tangier East End in the Goodyear Building (Akron) and Tangier at the Cedars in Fairlawn. Note: The original West Market Street Tangier is no longer in operation for events. For consistent access to Tangier events, consider Tangier East End and Tangier at the Cedars as your go-to venues in the Akron area.

  • Original Tangier location: 532 W Market St, Akron, OH 44303; historically hosted major acts (e.g., Tina Turner, James Brown, Danny Thomas) and notable visitors including President George H.W. Bush; seating/capacity around 350–400 for the main space.
  • West Market St Tangier closed in December 2020 after sale; the site was redeveloped (House Three Thirty opened there in 2023).
  • Tangier at the Cedars opened in 2022 inside Our Lady of the Cedars, located at 507 S Cleveland Massillon Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333; capacity around 330 seats.
  • The Tangier East End operates in Akron’s Goodyear building at 1201 E Market St, Akron, OH 44305 with capacity up to 260 and on-site parking.
  • Parking: East End advertises ample on-site parking; West Market St site had its own prior parking arrangements and is no longer in operation for Tangier events.
  • Transit: Public transit in the Akron area (West Market St corridor) routes exist; Akron METRO bus service along West Market/Streets is part of the regional network.
