Known for hosting high-profile swimming, diving, and artistic swimming events, the centre supports up to 15,000 spectators during major Games and features event-specific seating maps. After the Games, capacity settled to about 5,000 seats. Note: The venue was formerly known as the Olympic Aquatics Centre and was renamed ahead of the Games. Nearby Tatsumi Water Polo Centre closed in 2023 to become an ice arena (Tatsumi Ice Arena).
