The UBC Aquatic Centre is a premier indoor multi-pool facility on the University of British Columbia campus, serving students, the local community, and competitive swimmers. Opened on-site in 2017 to replace the former Empire Pool, it now hosts major championships and events such as Invictus Games Vancouver swimming events and the Mel Zajac/Canada Cup. The centre combines a 50m competition pool, a 25m recreation pool with diving boards, a leisure pool with a lazy river, a 34-person hot tub, plus sauna and steam rooms. Spectator seating is available in the mezzanine area, accommodating up to 460 guests, with the natatorium able to welcome nearly 1,000 bathers overall.
