The Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center (UCIMC) is a unique, nonprofit venue housed in a historic post office building at 202 S Broadway Ave, Suite 100, Urbana, IL 61801. This city-centered arts hub offers flexible spaces for performances, workshops, screenings, and community gatherings, with a focus on independent media, creativity, and local engagement. UCIMC blends a 2,500-square-foot Main Space with approximately 200 chairs and a 2,300-square-foot Sunroom, each capable of hosting intimate concerts, screenings, talks, and DIY projects. A connected gallery space adds even more versatility for exhibits and pop-up events. Whether you’re planning a concert, fundraiser, workshop, or film night, UCIMC provides a welcoming, accessible setting in downtown Urbana.
