About WVU Media Innovation Center
The WVU Media Innovation Center sits at the heart of Morgantown’s campus life, offering a versatile venue for conferences, hackathons, workshops, and campus/community events. Located on the 4th floor of Evansdale Crossing, this ~10,400 gross square foot facility blends classrooms, meeting spaces, huddle rooms, a mixed reality lab, a podcast studio, and a modern XR Suite added in 2024. From large Forum-style gatherings to intimate sessions in fixed classrooms seating 50 or 100, the Center is built to adapt to learning, collaboration, and production needs.
Built in Winter 2016 and launched by the Reed College of Media (now the Reed School of Media and Communications), the Center has evolved with campus branding and program updates while preserving its mission: to connect students, faculty, and industry through cross-disciplinary media projects. If you’re planning a campus or community event, we’ve got you covered with flexible spaces, reliable support, and easy access.
Accessibility and convenience are a priority. The Center offers direct connection to the WVU campus Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system via Evansdale Crossing, making it simple to reach from anywhere on campus. Parking is straightforward with paid lots ST4 and ST9 adjacent to Evansdale Crossing; after 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day weekends, parking is free in these lots. For visitors, nearby lodging options include Holiday Inn Morgantown (Suncrest area) with shuttle service to the Center, Scholar Morgantown (Tapestry Collection by Hilton), and Hotel Morgan in downtown Morgantown. We’ll help you secure suitable spaces for your event and guide you to trusted local partners for lodging and dining to fit your schedule and budget.
For organizers and attendees, the WVU Media Innovation Center is a practical choice: multi-purpose classrooms, a dedicated podcast studio, MakerSpace and Think Tank features, and an XR Suite that expands cross-disciplinary media production capabilities. When you’re ready to book, we can connect you with the right spaces and support—like having a reliable friend in the business.
