About Grand Sumo Tournament
The Grand Sumo Tournament comes to Royal Albert Hall in London for five energetic evenings in October 2025. Presented by Nihon Sumo Kyokai (Japan Sumo Association), this international exhibition brings the spectacle of professional sumo outside Japan for a rare, world-class sporting experience. Doors typically open around 6:30pm with the evening sessions starting at 7:30pm on Oct 15–19, and a Sunday matinee at 2:00pm on the final day. This is a historic chance to witness traditional dohyo-iri ring-entering ceremonies and salt rituals, without the musical openings common to modern concerts.
