About Alberta Ballet: The Nutcracker
Experience a fresh take on a holiday classic as Alberta Ballet presents The Nutcracker in a brand-new world premiere choreographed by Francesco Ventriglia. With the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra live on stage, this two-act ballet promises elegant storytelling, lush production, and festive magic for the whole family.
Two performances are scheduled on December 21, 2025 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary. Showtimes include a 1:00 PM matinee and a 6:00 PM evening performance (18:00). Each performance runs about 2 hours, with Act I around 47 minutes, a 25-minute intermission, and Act II approximately 50 minutes. The full Nutcracker program is presented with no separate opening act.
