About Wabanaki Stories

Co-commissioned with the Akomawt Educational Initiative and part of Portland Ovations' Wabanaki Stories tour, this 70-minute program brings six celebrated Wabanaki artists to the stage: Tania Morey, Jennifer Pictou, Dwayne Tomah, Ashton Altvater (Undeniable the Native), Jason Brown (Firefly), and Chris Newell. This event previously delighted Bangor audiences in 2025 and now travels to Portland for a new opportunity to experience Indigenous storytelling and music in a welcoming, community-focused setting.
