About North Pole Express (Multiple Dates and Times)
Experience the magic of the season aboard the North Pole Express at The Essex Steam Train & Riverboat in Essex, Connecticut. This festive 90-minute ride delivers holiday cheer with a live on-board reading of The Night Before Christmas, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, festive sing-alongs, hot chocolate, and sugar cookies. Each child receives a small gift. Tickets are sold online only, with car groups released in Full, Half, Quarter configurations, and individual tickets following full car sales. Pajama-wearing is encouraged for a cozy, family-friendly outing just outside of the city.
Dates run across several windows: November 13–23, 2025 (Thu–Sun), November 28–30, 2025 (Fri–Sun), December 2–21, 2025 (Tue–Sun), and December 23, 2025 (Tue). Departures vary by day, with multiple time options to fit your schedule. Rides begin around late afternoon to evening, with Saturday and Sunday options extending into the later evening hours.
