About Arts Place
Arts Place operates two vibrant venues in Indiana: the Jay County Campus in Portland (the Hall-Moser Theatre at 131 East Walnut Street, Portland, IN 47371) and the Blackford County Arts Center in Hartford City (107 West Washington Street, Hartford City, IN 47348). Since 2021, the Portland center has been known as the Jay County Campus of Arts Place. While Arts Place closed its St. Marys Auglaize/Mercer Center in 2024, the remaining campuses continue to host a wide range of performances, exhibitions, and arts education opportunities. Whether you’re catching the Eric R. Rogers Performing Arts Series in Portland or enjoying local theatre at the Hartford City venue, you’ll find accessible seating, convenient parking, and a thoughtful slate of nearby dining and lodging options. We’ve got you covered with straightforward, reliable ticket access and local tips to help you plan your visit.
Seating and accessibility: The Hall-Moser Theatre in Jay County Campus seats 283 attendees and offers a comfortable viewing experience for a variety of performing arts events. The Blackford County Arts Center hosts a range of performances and galleries with accessible seating options. When you secure your tickets, you’ll see current seating details (including any ADA accommodations) for the event. Secure your seats early for popular shows from the Eric R. Rogers Performing Arts Series and Jay County Civic Theatre productions.
\n\nParking and transit: Ample parking is available near both Arts Place campuses. For the Jay County Campus, convenient drop-off and loading zones streamline entry to Hall-Moser Theatre. Transport options include local transit services; reservations should be made in advance if applicable. Consider rideshare options as an additional convenient choice if you’re parking farther away from the venue.
\n\nNearby hotels and dining: Plan your stay with nearby options. A short drive to Portland offers lodging options and local dining choices for a relaxed pre-show meal or post-show dessert. We’ll highlight partner recommendations for comfortable stays and reliable dining when you’re ready to book.
\n\nWhat to expect at Arts Place: Expect quality programming across both campuses—from intimate theatre productions to visual arts exhibitions and community events. The venues host notable series and local arts groups, continuing a tradition of accessible, community-focused arts in northeast Indiana.
