Venue history

The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre was opened on January 6, 1942. The theatre was built on the site of the Cole Theater, which was destroyed by fire in 1941. The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre was originally operated by the Griffith Amusement Company. The theatre was designed in the Streamline Moderne style by architect Jack M. Corgan. [1]
