About Claremont Opera House
The Claremont Opera House is a storied performance venue housed in the Claremont City Hall at 58 Opera House Sq., Claremont, NH 03743. Dedicated in 1897 and reopened after restoration on May 26, 1979, this historic space has hosted a wide range of performances—from Sousa’s Band in 1906 to today’s modern concerts, plays, and community events. With a total seating capacity of 788 (Orchestra 522 with 12 obstructed; Balcony 266 with 8 obstructed), the Opera House blends classic elegance with modern acoustics. The 2017 Grand Drape Restoration preserved the original stage curtain, honoring the venue’s enduring legacy while supporting contemporary productions.
