About Hoogland Center for the Arts

Welcome to Hoogland Center for the Arts, a cornerstone of Springfield’s arts scene. Housed in an 80,000 square foot facility, the center features three main performance spaces: the Levi, Ray, & Shoup Theatre (455 seats), Peggy Ryder Theatre (Theatre II) with movable seating, and Theatre III (up to 250 seats). Since its renaming in 2004 following a generous donation, Hoogland has hosted a diverse lineup—from Broadway-bound productions like Hadestown and Anastasia to intimate poetry readings and local premieres. Whether you’re grabbing tickets for a big musical or a smaller staged reading, we’ve got you covered with clear, straightforward buying options.

Plan your visit with practical details in mind. Parking is available via an adjacent loading ramp, and downtown parking options are convenient for guests. Street parking is also available. For transportation, downtown commuters can use the SMTD bus transfer center on 11th Street, while Amtrak travelers can alight at Springfield Station near Jefferson & Third. After the show, explore nearby hotel options like Wyndham Springfield City Centre, The State House Inn, and President Abraham Lincoln Hotel, all conveniently located on or near Adams Street. We’ve got recommendations for nearby dining too, so you can make a complete night out without the hassle. Ready to secure your seats?
