During the winter between the 2005 and 2006 seasons Principal Park underwent an extensive renovation costing $6.8 million that added new seats, a new scoreboard/video board and a right‑field fountain.
An external concourse behind Principal Park houses concession stands, restrooms and the team store.
When not rented, fans with other tickets may purchase a table in the Left Field Lounge subject to a minimum spend on food and beverage.
The Left Field Lounge is a climate‑controlled space that can be rented by groups of up to 70 people.
The Right Field Party Deck includes bleacher seating located beneath the scoreboard.

Principal Park hosted its first Iowa High School Athletic Association state baseball tournament in 2005 and was scheduled to host it through 2020.
Principal Park is a minor league baseball stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
Principal Park opened in 1992 on the same site as its predecessor Sec Taylor Stadium.
Sec Taylor Stadium was renamed Principal Park on August 5, 2004 after the Principal Financial Group purchased the naming rights.
A new playing surface was installed at Principal Park after the 2002 season.
