About Drake Knapp Center
The Drake Knapp Center is the on-campus home for Drake University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams and the women’s volleyball program. With a current capacity of 6,424 (2022–present) after a recent renovation, the Knapp Center blends modern amenities with the classic Drake athletics atmosphere. The venue hosts a variety of events, from high-profile college basketball games to community lectures and commencements, all within easy reach of central Des Moines amenities.
Named after Pierson Court’s naming history and campus renovations, the arena continues to serve as a central hub for Drake University athletics and campus life. The facility remains open and active, with renovations enhancing sightlines, seating options, and fan experiences.
