About Roberts Mainstage At Olney Theatre Center

Welcome to Roberts Mainstage at Olney Theatre Center, the indoor main-stage venue on the historic Olney Theatre Campus. With a seating capacity of 429, this intimate space hosts vibrant productions alongside the Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab, Root Family Stage at Omi’s Pavilion, and the 1938 Original Theatre. We’ve got you covered with reliable, straightforward guidance to secure your seats and enjoy a great show without the hassle.

Key details: seating charts are available on OTC’s site, accessibility seating is described in the FAQs, and on-site free parking is available with an additional rear lot for overflow. While public transit options are more limited around Olney, driving is common, and WMATA routes can help you plan connections to nearby metro stations such as Glenmont, Shady Grove, and Rockville. For longer getaways, consider nearby hotels in Gaithersburg, Rockville, North Bethesda, and Silver Spring, with Residence Inn Gaithersburg Marriott commonly used by visiting artists. The Olney Theatre Center also hosts the National Players outreach program, and note that the Roberts Mainstage was renamed in 2023. The 1938 Original Theatre is undergoing renovations to become Bernard Family Theatre in 2026, continuing OTC’s rich performance heritage.
